Our current project will provide 500 off-grid solar systems to customers in Kubwa community, West Africa.  Your investment will help 10,000 people access electricity, reduce 11,500 Metric Tons of CO2 and sponsor 10 children’s education, while earning 10% return annually.

Over 600 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa lack access to Grid electricity. As a result, majority of West Africans rely exclusively on expensive, dangerous and highly polluting kerosene lanterns and diesel/petrol electricity generators.

In 2016, Winock Energy set out to solve this problem by leasing clean, reliable and affordable Off-grid solar systems to customers in West Africa. We successfully identified a core base of customers that are most in need of our service and developed a business model that has created a win-win relationship.

Our first set of customers have reported a significant increase in income due to  stable and reliable electricity and a significant increase in health and well being due to reduced exposure to CO2 and Generator fumes.

Solving Africa’s Electricity Problem

Over 600 million people in Sub-Sahara Africa lack access to stable electricity. As a result, of the lack of electricity, students are not able to study effectively and parents are not able to work productively. Winock Energy is helping to solve this problem by providing 24 hours Off-grid Solar electricity at an affordable price.

Saving Customers 30% on Electricity Cost

Lack of stable access to electricity compels people in Sub-Sahara Africa to rely on expensive and highly polluting diesel/petrol generators and kerosene lanterns. By switching to our Off-grid Solar solution, our customers will immediately save 30% on electricity cost which will help to improve living standard.

Educating Children in West Africa

Winock Energy is working in partnership with Laughing Women to provide education scholarship to disadvantaged children in West Africa.  Winock Energy also provides for the child’s general needs to ensure they stay focused on education.

As a responsible community, Winock Energy informs its members of the risks involved when investing in a solar project. Below are the risks to consider when making an investment in this project:

Payment Default

Events may occur that are beyond Winock Energy’s control which may disrupt the customer’s ability to continue to make payments. In such an event, the system will be retrieved and transferred to a new customer. Additionally, 10% of our monthly revenue is deposited in a contingency escrow account to cover against events such as payment default.

Developing Market

Investments in emerging and developing markets such as Latin America, Africa and Asia generally involve higher political and economic risks due to immature systems and poor infrastructure. Winock Energy will constantly monitor market movements and political conditions in the regions that we lease systems to customers so that proactive steps can be taken to switch markets as early as possible when required.

Theft or Accidental Damage

The Solar panels are installed in publicly visible locations hence there is a risk of theft or accidental damage. Winock Energy will take steps to mitigate this risk by insuring the systems with a reputable insurer against theft and accidental damage.

Transportation

There are cases where a shipping company may mishandle or misplace an item; Winock Energy’s shipper has end-to-end insurance which covers the shipping of Solar systems from production factory to delivery.
